Hello friendly bloggers. I am happy to report that Christmas is over and my house is starting to get its shape back. Not that I don't love Christmas, but it makes me crazy with stuff all over my house. And this Christmas was a different one. And since I haven't had much time to blog lately I will tell the details.
Christmas eve I woke up with a sore throat (go figure). At least I got off from work early so I could get the last odds and ends finished up. I ran like mad until about 5:15 just in time to go out to Jody's family's house. Once we got there my Christmas started falling into place. It was so nice to be with his family and just hang out and talk. We had a wonderful finger food dinner with turkey sandwiches, lil smokies, chips and pasta salad. That is what I am used to on Christmas eve. The big dinner is usually on Christmas. We sat around and opened our gifts. It was a wonderful evening, but since I was sick, and Jody was falling to sleep on their couch, we called it an early evening.
When we got home we decided that we should open our gifts to each other since the next morning was going to be an early one and we would be out of town for a couple days. Jody totally spoiled me! He got me a gift certificate for a free hour massage, ten free tans (mostly to keep me happy in the winter months since most of you know... I DONT TAN!) he got me the Juno and Twilight soundtrack and the WINTER set for my latter decoration. What a great husband! He got a miter saw, a palm sander and a new book with a book light so he can read in bed when I am asleep. We called it a night and went to bed.
The next morning we got up at about 7 to get ready to go to Richfield to be with my brother. We knew that there was a storm a brewin so we were trying hard to beat it. We drove through a blizzard until we got to Ogden. We stopped at my parents to pick them up and we were off, Christmas dinner an all! We drove and drove. We did pretty well to beat the storm and we only hit a few rough patches but lucky for me, Jody is a great driver. We got to Richfield at about 2 pm which would give us about 4 hours until Chad had to get to work. My dad got us a couple rooms at the Marriott. We dove right into the gifts and although my parents said that we were going to have a smaller Christmas this year we still got a ton! Spending Christmas in a hotel was a unique experience, but to be with my whole family, it was TOTALLY worth it! I just felt so bad for those at the hotel that had to work because of us. Jody got some new gun cases, nice sunglasses, cloths, some shoes, and odds and ends like that. I got... drum roll... a CRICUT EXPRESSION! I wanted that so bad! I also got some cloths, a staple gun (i am kinda weird that way I totally wanted that too), a body pillow, and other odds and ends. We always get so spoiled. After gifts we got ready to have our Christmas dinner, yes in the hotel room! My mom made a ham, mashed potatoes, gravy I made rolls and the pies. It was so fun to just hang out and be together. Chad then had to go to work right in the middle of the BLIZZARD that was expected. Poor guy. We sure missed him. The next morning we checked out and went to JB's for breakfast/lunch. Here we are!

Isn't Emi so grown up! Holy Cow!

Then we drove out to see where Chad worked. Holy molly! I have never been up close to an oil rig and it was quite amazing. Those guys work in the cold every day! I met a few of his co-workers and I know that Chad is working with good people. It was a fun adventure. then we headed home and the roads were awful the whole time. It took us 6 hours to get back to Logan. Sheesh! It was good to be home. The rest of the weekend I did nothing, just tried to beat the stupid cold that was kicking my butt. By Monday I was feeling a lot better and am ready to welcome int he NEW YEAR!

I hope you all have had a great holiday season and are all safe and as healthy as ever!
